Clinical Pharmacology of Miami, an area leader in clinical research, is evaluating new ways to help doctors understand liver health in people with fatty liver disease, which may be related to metabolic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, being overweight, high triglycerides, or low good cholesterol.
Study participants may receive liver health assessments, including blood work, a FibroScan, MRI/ultrasound imaging, and a liver biopsy, along with study-related care from a doctor at no cost and compensation for their study-related time and travel.

Fatty liver disease is a condition where extra fat builds up in the liver, often linked to weight, blood sugar levels, and cholesterol. It is most common in people with type 2 diabetes, weight concerns, and related metabolic conditions. Over time, this can cause liver inflammation and affect how the liver works, even in people who feel few or no symptoms. If left untreated, it may progress to liver inflammation, fibrosis, and impaired liver function.
